mc-6 Oiler

This is a copper oil can. It was used to oil gun parts or anything else that needed a drop or two of oil. There were many different styles of oilers made during the colonial period. This one measures 2 3/4 inches across, 3/4 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches tall (not including the ring).

NOTE About Stoppers: Traditionally, stoppers were made from wood. However, they did not always function as one would want. Wood has the tendency to swell and can become extremely difficult to remove if pressed in tight enough to completely stop all leaking when tipped over. Therefore, I offer a cork stopper which is not quite period but does a better job at sealing the opening without becoming too difficult to remove. Please order the stopper that you prefer.
